I have been Creating Art my whole life, my favorite gift; no matter what the occasion was a box of 64 Crayola Crayons, the smell still takes me back to a simpler time. I could color for hours and hours. As I have "grown up" I have experimented with many different art mediums, I love them all, I AM a creative Spirit, I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about the next thing I want to make...it's a blessing and a curse!

I am a Wonderful Woman, a wife of 30 years, a mother of two fabulous daughters, a breast cancer survivor, the keeper of three dogs, two cats and several fish. It's an active household but I wouldn't have it any other way.

While reviewing and update my web-site I realized the paragraph above needed some revamping. Although I still consider myself a breast cancer survivor, I have had a recurrence and I am currently undergoing chemotherapy. I continue to create everyday, if not at the clay table; on paper or in my mind! Creativity gives me balance, it is great therapy because when I am creating I get lost and think of nothing but clay.  It is a great escape from the reality that is my life. Please if you are reading this and have been putting off getting your mammagram, go make that appointment NOW! The small amount of discomfort you feel during your mammo is nothing compared to the treatment for breast cancer!

Most recently I have been working with Polymer Clay. Polymer Clay is man made clay that comes in many beautiful colors that can be custom blended and cured in a home oven. It has many applications but I have fallen in love with the Art of Millefiori (meaning Thousand Flowers) Cane Work. Beautiful works of art are created within a Cane or Log of clay. The designs runs from end to end through the cane, it's a little like magic, beautiful magic. The cane is then sliced, the slices are used to cover everyday objects and the simplest things become beautiful. The slices can also be used to make fantastic jewelry, you are only limited by your imagination.
I have been selling Polymer Clay Canes to other artists on e-bay for a while, but I have not offered my finished pieces. On this web site I will continue to offer my OOAK (one of a kind) hand made Polymer Clay Canes as well as some of my finished pieces on a limited basis.
Thank you to everyone in the creative industry that has supported my creative dreams.  Carolyn Stearns
